2005-201 – Laser/Plasma Quote Fast Set-up

Overview:
The ‘Quote Fast’ feature enables the user to create client parts for laser cutting orders.  The fast quote can then be selected as part of client order creation.

Configure Client Details:
On the OPTO ribbon select the Contacts tab and then click on the ‘New/Edit Clients’ option to display the ‘Clients’ window.  Click in the ‘Client Code’ field, press <F2>, select a client from the pop-up list, click on your client then click OK.  Press <TAB> to display the client’s details.

For ‘Automatic Numbering’ to work the following fields must be filled in the client record if they are used in the ‘Quote Fast’ process.

  • Click in the ‘Part Prefix’ field, duplicates cannot exist within your client list, and enter characters to precede parts exclusively created for this client.
  • Click on the ‘More Info’ tab and click in the ‘Laser Auto No’ field and enter a starting number for the client’s parts.

To set the default ‘Tax Code’ and ‘Acc Code’ for the client, on the OPTO Ribbon select the Contacts tab and then click on the ‘New/Edit Clients’ parameters icon to display the ‘Parameters – Clients’ window.

From the ‘Def Tax Code’ dropdown list, select the primary client tax code that will be used in the OPTO system and then click OK.

Repeat for the ‘Def Acc Code’ and ‘Def Country’ and enter any discounts and/or markups that may apply.  Click on the ‘Use Awaiting in Despatch (Prod Order)’ and ‘(2) Search for Parts Prefix’ checkboxes to set them to a ‘ticked’ status., then press <F9> to save.

General Parameter Setup – Laser Quote Fast:
To set the default parameters for lasers, from the OPTO ribbon select the Quotes tab and then click on the ‘Quote Fast’ parameters icon to display the ‘Parameters – Quote Fast’ window.  When completed, press <F9> to save settings.

This window is used to set-up the following:

  • Geometry Features for calculating cutting time (Feature names can be changed and extras added – Refer OPTO support for help with setting in detail)
  • Show/Hide/Swap various fields in the quote fast window
  • Set the search date start and sorting preference
  • Set the workcenter numbers used for QA checks
  • Set parts to be automatically ticked Inventory and/or Auto – Order
